Yes, it really does work

What Is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a gentle Japanese energy healing practice founded by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 1900s. The word Reiki combines two Japanese words: Rei, meaning universal or spiritual wisdom, and Ki, meaning life-force energy. Together, Reiki refers to the universal life energy that flows through all living things.

During a Reiki session, the practitioner gently places their hands on or just above the body, allowing Reiki energy to support the body's natural ability to relax, restore balance, and promote healing. Reiki is not a religion and may be practiced alongside conventional medical care, counseling, recovery programs, and other wellness practices.

The Reiki Precepts

The heart of the Usui tradition is reflected in five guiding principles:

Just for today...

  • Do not worry.

  • Do not anger.

  • Honor your parents, teachers, and elders.

  • Earn your living honestly.

  • Show gratitude to every living thing.

The precepts encourage living each day with gratitude, integrity, compassion, and presence.
